What do I need
to bring to my 1st session?
I simply need to hear your voice and see how you are currently producing your sound,
feel free to bring along either a piece of music with or without backing track that you know fairly well, and be prepared
to sing unaccompanied. All of the above is not essential for beginners, who are encouraged to come as you are!
Your lessons (especially warm ups and exercises) will be recorded via computer so please bring a blank recordable cd. We
will transfer the recorded lesson to cd so that you have your own personalised practice cd for home use. You will also receive
a personalised plan that will include everything from anatomy of the voice to personal goal setting.
What should I expect to do?
My aim initially is to listen
to your sound so I can identify any imbalances. A voice assessment will form the basis of the type of
exercises I give to help balance the voice out. At your first session, along with specific exercises that will help YOUR
voice develop and let go of bad habits, we will look at how your voice works and other hot topics such as breathing technique!
It is also a chance for me to find out a little about your journey so far and a chance for you to feel comfortable
and happy with what you will be learning. You may find yourself singing some strange sounds and having a giggle at the same
time! We can work on songs of your own choice as well as recommendations. I encourage songwriters and bands to work on their
own material.
